Frequently Asked Questions

Managed IT Services is essentially outsourcing your computers, network and help desk support to a vendor. When you choose a Managed IT partner, that partner will install agents on all your PCs and servers. These agents monitor the system and send reports whenever anything on the machines or the network looks like it’s in trouble—or is exceeding the thresholds we have set up.

For example, if the hard drive on your PC is getting close to being full, the agent will tell us, and our support staff will figure out a strategy for keeping it from crashing.

Disk cleanup in Windows 10
  1. In the search box on the taskbar, type disk cleanup, and select Disk Cleanup from the list of results.
  2. Select the drive you want to clean up, and then select OK.
  3. Under Files to delete, select the file types to get rid of. To get a description of the file type, select it.
  4. Select OK.

While a 64-bit processor has more processing power than a 32-bit processor, it does not always mean that you need a 64-bit computer or software. Whether you should install a 32-bit or 64-bit application on your computer depends on your current setup.

If you want your computer to be fast, you should probably choose a 64-bit processor. You can even use this processor if you’re going to run 32-bit programs since most applications are backward compatible.  This means 64-bit computers will run most 32-bit programs. However, a 32-bit computer will not run any 64-bit applications.

You do need an antivirus for Windows 10, even though it comes with Microsoft Defender Antivirus. That’s because this software lacks endpoint protection and response plus automated investigation and remediation. For full protection, you can either pair it with Defender for Endpoint or another antivirus software from a third party.

In today’s cybersecurity landscape, it seems like we’re hearing more and more about software vulnerabilities being exposed and exploited by malicious parties. These malicious parties count on the fact that common, everyday users aren’t keeping up-to-date on all the latest cyber security news- meaning that they could be leaving the door wide open to attacks on their systems and programs.

If you’re not familiar with the tech world, “patching” might mean darning socks or fixing ripped pants. Similar to these fabric patches, a computer software patch can be used to repair an exposed flaw in a program or operating system.

What is Cyber Security?
